Journals and Periodicals Published at The Graduate Center

The Graduate Center's academic program and research centers produce a variety of scholary publications, including:

Dickens Studies Annual: Essays on Victorian Fiction was founded in 1970, the centennial anniversary of Dickens's death, and has been published since 1980 by AMS Press in cooperation with the Ph.D Program in English of the City University of New York, and in association with the Graduate Center and Queens College, CUNY. Besides presenting articles exploring the wide range of Dickens's interests and talents, DSA also includes essays on other mid- and late-nineteenth century novelists and on the history and aesthetics of the period's fiction. In addition, each volume contains a substantial review article examining recent scholarship on Dickens, and DSA occasionally publishes surveys of work on other authors, such as the Brontës, Thackeray, Trollope, George Eliot, Carroll, Hardy, Gaskell, and Collins, as well as review essays considering specialized studies of subjects in Victorian fiction. DSA is currently edited by Professor Stanley Friedman (Queens College), President Edward Guiliano (New York Institute of Technology), Professor Anne Humpherys (The Graduate Center and Lehman College), Professor Talia Schaffer (The Graduate Center and Queens College), and Professor Michael Timko (The Graduate Center and Queens College).

PART: The Journal of the CUNY Ph.D. Program in Art History
PART is produced and edited by students in the Ph.D. Program in Art History at the City University of New York's Graduate Center. It was established in 1997 by two students, John Angeline and Alan Moore, as an independent student venture, to promote the scholarship of CUNY students in the democratic form of on-line publishing. The title refers to the "aspiration of students to add their fragments of scholarship to an increasingly diverse and far-reaching discourse." Today PART also includes the work of outside scholars, art historians, art professionals and artists, and we welcome submissions from scholars and professionals from outside of the City University. PART is produced twice annually.
