Message from President Kelly Regarding Vice President Steve Brier

Dear Friends,
 
Effective January 31, 2009, Dr. Stephen Brier, who has served as a senior administrator at the Graduate Center for more than a decade, has decided to step down from his current position as Vice President for Information Technology and External Programs. Steve has indicated his desire to resume active teaching, research and writing at the Graduate Center.
 
Steve will continue to coordinate the Interactive Technology and Pedagogy certificate program, an entity he founded in 2002. He will also serve as the Graduate Center’s Senior Academic Technology Officer and will represent us on the CUNY Committee on Academic Technology. In addition, I have asked Steve to be my Special Assistant for Legislative Affairs. In this capacity, he will head up our efforts to secure financial support from city and state agencies.  
 
I want to thank Steve for his long and valuable service to the Graduate Center.  And I am delighted that we will be able to continue to call on his experience and judgment.
