May 1 - June 6 (Thursday–Friday)
Registration for the Fall 2008 semester for those enrolled in the Spring 2008 semester.

August 11 (Monday)
Last day for non-matriculated and permit students to file an application for the Fall 2008 semester. Deadline for filing readmission application for Fall 2008.

August 19 (Tuesday)
Registration for new matriculated students begins.

August 20-26 (Wednesday-Tuesday)
Registration for nonmatriculants and permit students begins. Late registration for continuing students (those enrolled Spring 2008). Continuing students who register during this period must pay tuition and fees (including $25 late registration fee) in full at that time.

August 26 (Tuesday)
Last day to apply for a leave of absence for Fall 2008.

August 27 (Wednesday)
First day of classes for the Fall 2008 semester. All students who register on or after August 27 must pay tuition and fees in full at that time, including $25 late registration fee.

August 30-31 (Saturday–Sunday)
No classes scheduled.

September 1 (Monday)
Labor Day. The Graduate Center is closed.

September 2 (Tuesday)
Last day to register for Fall 2008.

September 16 (Tuesday)
Deadline for filing add/drop, changes of level, or residency changes for the Fall 2008 semester. All changes that may affect student billing must be completed by this date. No petitions for changes will be accepted after this date.
Last day to deposit dissertation or thesis and file for an October 1, 2008 degree.

September 29 - October 1 (Monday-Wednesday)
No classes scheduled.

October 8–9 (Wednesday–Thursday)
No classes scheduled.

October 13 (Monday)
Columbus Day. The Graduate Center is closed.

October 14 (Tuesday)
Classes follow a Monday schedule.

November 18 (Tuesday)
Last day to file for unevaluated withdrawal (“W”) from courses.

November 27–28 (Thursday–Friday)
Thanksgiving recess. The Graduate Center is closed.

December 3 - January 9 (Wednesday-Friday) Tentative
Registration for the Spring 2009 semester for those enrolled in the Fall 2008 semester without the imposition of a $25 late registration fee.

December 12 (Friday)
Reading Day. No classes scheduled

December 24–25 (Wednesday–Thursday)

A late registration fee of $25 will be applied to all registrations for the Spring 2009 semester on or after this date for those matriculated students registered for the Fall 2008 semester. Last day to file for readmission.
